Flourishing With Vitality is a retreat for people over 50 navigating transitions in their 3rd Age who wish to energize and re-vitalize in body, mind, heart and soul. With wisdom facilitators Dori Howard, Grace Mickelson and Erin Routly you will explore such questions as:

  • How is my identity evolving at this phase of my life? 

  • What does my soul long for? What are my passions? What are my fears?

  • What practices can I adopt to sustain, nourish and renew myself?

  • How can I live with more presence and awareness to deepen my connection to my truest self?

What to Expect:

Immersion in nature: Spend seven days in a tranquil and inspiring natural setting, disconnecting from your daily routine to fully engage in presence.

Holistic Learning: Explore a unique blend of experiential learning activities that tap into heart, body, mind and soul. These activities are based on recent research on flourishing, emotional agility, Kundalini yoga, and ceremony from Peruvian indigenous rituals and sound healing. 

Yoga & Meditation: Nourish your body, heart and soul with daily Kundalini yoga and meditation.

Flourishing Practice Plan: Learn, experience and adopt several 'Renewal Practices' that calm and ground you to manage stress more effectively.

Sound and Ceremony: Immerse yourself in sacred ceremony from the Heart and grounded in connection with Pachamama . (Mother Earth). Experience ceremonies that  honour Ancient Wisdom Teachings from Cusco, Peru. 

Creative Shift in Life Narrative: Release the expectations of previous roles and identities and explore or become those that align with your character strengths, values and interests at this point in your life.

Flourishing with Vitality is a novel retreat experience that includes 4 phases: 

Preparation: pre-retreat live via Zoom, yoga, meditation and group meet-and-greet.

Immersion: a 7 day, 6 night yoga, meditation, learning, enjoying and connecting retreat hosted at Yandara Retreat Centre

Integration: post-retreat yoga live via Zoom, follow up group session, 1:1 coaching session,

Continuing Connection: post-retreat opportunity to participate in enso’s hopeful community through a variety of program options.

Flourishing With Vitality brings the gifts of kundalini yoga and meditation, skillfully designed learning workshops, purposeful reflection, experiential activities, healing sound baths, nourishing food and more that allows you to take a deeper dive into listening and living in alignment with your truer, most connected self.


 
 

Accommodations:

Glamping Tents are well designed with furnishings that inspire relaxation. This is a wonderful option to feel the essence of sleeping in nature!

Glamping Cabanas are the same size and style as Glamping Tents with a solid structure allowing for better temperature control. They stay cooler during warmer weather, and warmer during cooler weather. You have an option of a private bath or shared bath.

Sleeping under the stars, listening to the waves is a truly relaxing, mesmerizing experience for all to enjoy! Shared outdoor bathrooms are in close proximity to all accommodations with private showers, toilets and sinks.

  3. Once payment is received, your spot and accommodation choice will be secured. (Yay!)

  4. We'll follow up with more details, an intake form where you can ask us questions and provide any further dietary requirements, arrival and departure info, and our participant agreement.

All of the accommodation options are absolutely heavenly, and no matter which one you choose, we guarantee you'll fall in love with this land and retreat center as much as we have. It's one of our favourite places on earth.

Terms and Conditions:

Covid Policy: We will hold our retreat as scheduled unless prohibited by government restrictions or extraordinary circumstances.

General Cancellation Policy: Cancellations must be submitted in writing via email. Our refund policy is stated as follows:

  • Prior to 90 days of retreat commencement, your payments will be refunded, minus a $300 USD deposit.

  • Between 30 and 89 days of retreat commencement, if we are able to fill your spot with another guest, we will refund the total amount paid including deposit, minus a $250 processing fee. If we are not able to fill your spot with another guest, then your deposit is non-refundable, however any payments made to date are 50% refundable. 

  • Within 30 days of retreat commencement, no refunds will be given unless we are able to fill your spot. In this case, we will refund the total amount paid minus a $250 processing fee.

  • You may transfer your reservation to another guest, and all payments and deposits will transfer at 100%,

Travel Insurance: Due to unforeseeable air travel disruptions, and medical issues including testing positive for Covid before or during travel, we encourage guests to purchase travel insurance.

**No refunds or partial credits for those who do not complete the retreat, or for arriving late or leaving early.  

We reserve the right to cancel retreats, in which case all payments will be refunded.

Location and How to Get Here

Yandara Retreat Centre is located just south of the quaint town of Todos Santos in the Baja peninsula of Mexico. It located about an hour north of Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo. Todos Santos was first known for its pueblo mágico (a legal designation for places of historic or cultural importance) on the Baja California peninsula, Todos Santos is a former sugar capital that is now best known for its surfer chic, boutique lodgings, and many acclaimed artists and galleries. You may know a popular song titled Hotel California…this is in Todos Santos.

FLIGHT INFORMATION:

Airport:  SJD - San Jose del Cabo

Please try to book your flights to arrive between 11AM-5PM on Sunday, February 16 and depart between 11AM-5PM on Saturday, February 22. Shuttle service will be provided by retreat center between 11AM-5PM on arrival and departure days at a reduced rate ($40 USD). For flights arriving and departing outside of this window, shuttle service will be arranged for an additional fee up to $120 USD.

To get there, travel by air to San Jose del Cabo airport. If you rent a car and drive to Yandara, there is free parking on site.

About the Facilitators 

 

Dori Howard

Professional Trauma-informed Coach, Kundalini Yoga Teacher, Nurse.Retreat Specialist

 

Dori is a spaceholder for transformation, lifelong learner and gatherer of people. Her experiences in healthcare for over 30 years has brought many lessons of giving, receiving, health and wellness. Dori’s view is that there is no magic bullet to FLOURISHING but rather a range of renewal practices that can move us ‘a shade more…’ towards wellness and healing. She divides her time between life on her peaceful and tranquil environment at enso Retreat Centre on Salt Spring Island and half her time in the warmth and magic of Mexico. Dori is a skilled facilitator with extensive experience in leading individual and group programs, coaching and leadership development. She is a certified executive professional coach, trauma informed coach, former RN, Kundalini yoga teacher and gatherer of people. Her passion is creating spaces and opportunities for people to reflect, learn and try out new (or re-activate) practices that move them toward life wellness and ‘connect to a truer you’

 

Grace Mickelson

Creator of habitats, lifelong learner,

 

Grace is a story-catcher, wisdom facilitator and life-long learner.  She is a habitat creator – aiming for havens of welcome, comfort and peace outdoors and indoors. She is a thought partner, co-creator and active participant in the hopeful enso community. She loves adventures in nature and, every now and then, dabbles in the creative arts.

 

Erin Routly

Registered Massage Therapist, Sound Healer, Yin Yoga Instructor

 

Erin Lisa Routly comes  in service to offer you a beautiful sound experience.  As a RMT and therapist of 20 years, healer, spiritually-minded teacher, yogi, musician, Mesa Carrier and student  of the Traditional Andean Teachings and Wisdom Keeping of her Peruvian  Curandero , Jhaimy Alvarez-Acosta, and First Nations Teachings under the direction of Starr Muranko, she creates a container of sacred space to surrender into. Taking you on a journey of self and inner wisdom to connect back with our natural essence through  sound vibration of the elements.
