Light
Light
I know what light feels like
I have been there before
Comfortable, with ease, still, aware
I know what dark feels like
I have been there too.
Confusing mysterious, also comfortable
When the soul is disrupted
Chained to the darkness of the night
Buried in fog shrouding the landscape
Without darkness, a slumbering soul lingers
Heavy, waiting, snoozing, pretending
Darkness-vital to liberate the light
It summons the courage to listen, to mobilize, to try
Slowly, the soul rouses
Like rays of sunshine through a glass pane
truth, surrender and peace are the sunbeams
illuminated by angels of insight
darkness fades
I am light again
